Utah Celebrations
Utah knows how to celebrate, and that’s proven each year thanks to annual events in the form of rodeos, film festivals, and Independence Day celebrations. Festivals are happening throughout the Beehive State, but don’t just take our word for it.
Northern Utah features the annual festivals of Salt Lake City like Pioneer Day, Deseret News Marathon, and the Utah Arts Festival – a three-day June event featuring over 150 vendors in downtown SLC.
Every Independence Day, northern Utah also yields America's Freedom Festival in Provo, featuring the Stadium of Fire event in LaVell Edwards Stadium at Brigham Young University. And who hasn’t head of the world-famous Sundance Film Festival? Held in Park City every January, this is the country’s largest independent film festival.
Central Utah boasts of colorful county fairs, action-packed rodeos, and even mountain biking festivals. Set in Moab, the Moab Ho-Down Mountain Bike Festival and Film Festival features bike jumping contests, costume parties, and an independent bike footage festival.
Located in Nephi, the Ute Stampede Rodeo offers its spectators a PRCA rodeo, three parades, and car shows. And for a great view of central Utah, grab a seat on the Ferris wheel at the Sevier County Fair – held appropriately enough at the Sevier County Fairgrounds in Richfield.
For visitors of southern Utah, don’t miss the two-day St. George Art Festival in St. George in March, and the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City during the summer and fall. Ever been to Bryce Canyon National Park? A great time to go is during the summer’s Bryce Canyon Country Rodeo, held at the Ruby's Inn Rodeo Grounds in Bryce Canyon City.
