Explore the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area

Make your way to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area to explore more than 160,000 acres of park land, lakes, beaches, and forests. It’s the perfect destination for hiking, fishing, and other outdoor adventures so you’ll want to plan at least an entire day exploring the area.

Unlike other state parks and recreation areas, this park is unique because it’s a combination of beaches, parks, and natural land. Head to the Anthony C. Beilenson Interagency Visitor Center to pick up maps and learn more about the park. You’ll find more than 500 miles of hiking trails here as well as historic ranches, including the Circle X Ranch and the Paramount Ranch and Western Town.

You can take a tour fo the dances to learn more about ranching in California and see some beautiful spaces. Many Hollywood movies have been shot at this park so it’s worth taking a walking tour on any given day.
