From the Dodgers to the Angels

When it comes to Major League Baseball, California residents have their allegiances firmly placed. Los Angeles area residents love their Dodgers – head over to Dodger Stadium during the spring and summer and watch as the Dodgers slug their way back to the playoffs. The Dodgers, who moved to LA from Brooklyn in 1958, compete in the National League West division.

San Diego residents head downtown to Petco Park to watch the Padres swing for the fences against tough National League West competition. The San Diego Padres, established in 1969, played all home games at Qualcomm Stadium from their inception in 1969 to 2003, when Petco Park was built – 2004 was their first season in the new ballpark. Don’t miss any of the action during the spring and summer while visiting the San Diego metro area.

When visiting the San Francisco bay area, be sure to check out AT&T Park, home to the San Francisco Giants. The Giants were first incepted in 1883 as the New York Gothams. In 1885 they became the New York Giants. And in 1958, the franchise moved across the country to San Francisco.

The Oakland Athletics were first incepted in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1954 the team moved to Kansas City where they played until 1967 – Oakland become the home a year later in 1968. Head to the Oakland this summer and watch the A’s slug, pitch, and glove their way back to the top – don’t miss a visit to the O.co Coliseum.

Visitors into the Los Angeles metro area are sure to check out the Dodgers – a classic baseball franchise. But don’t pass on the chance to check out the Angels. Set in the Anaheim, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim play ball at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. They compete in the American League West division.
