Sequoia National Park: See the Largest Tree on the Planet
Feel the magic of nature in this impressive wilderness, which is home to the largest living things on the planet: giant sequoias trees. Old-growth forests soar upward into the sky from a landscape little changed since ancient times. Between the big trees, red-tailed hawks and yellow-bellied marmots hunt for food, frolicking in a feral wonderland where nature is queen. Situated in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, Sequoia National Park is adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park – and a true American treasure.
Travel to the Giant Forest to stare up in awe at the General Sherman Tree. At 275 feet tall and 102 feet in circumference, it’s the largest tree on earth. Follow the Big Trees Trail from the Giant Forest Museum to find other massive sequoias. Climb Moro Rock to glimpse the Great Western Divide from the top of the granite dome. Bring your camera for the 2-mile trek to Tokopah Falls and snap a selfie with the waterfall. Discover cool rock formations and underground streams in the vast caverns of Crystal Cave. Explore rugged canyons, mountains, and trails – and discover what “epic” really means in Sequoia National Park.
