Visit the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park
When visiting Kentucky, you have the opportunity to gain insight into the early years of one of the most influential leaders in the United States, Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. It all starts with a trip to the 340-acre Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park in Hodgenville.
Begin with the exhibits, family artifacts and video inside the Visitor Center before exploring the adjacent Memorial Building. Here, you’ll be given more background and see a replica of “Honest Abe’s” one-room log cabin.
From there, take a drive to Knob Creek. Lincoln moved there with his family when he was two and remained until age seven. You’ll meet with interpretive guides and enjoy other replicas while learning about Lincoln’s humble beginnings.
