Take A Tour of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming
Create unforgettable memories with a visit to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Established as the first national park in the United States, the park spans 2.2 million acres. Most of the park lies within Wyoming but sections of it extend into Montana and Idaho.
Famous for its geothermal features, particularly the Old Faithful geyser, the park boasts one of the largest high elevation lakes in North America, Lake Yellowstone. Other popular destinations are Grand Prismatic Spring and Yellowstone Falls.
The park is home to hundreds of animals, birds, fish, and reptiles that live in the forests and grasslands. Depending on which section you are visiting, you may glimpse grizzly bears, wolves, bison, or elk. The bison herd is the oldest in the United States. In addition to touring the landmarks in the park, you’ll want to save time for hiking, boating, cross-country skiing, and fishing.
The major geothermal areas are accessible from paved roads, and visitors have access to lakes and waterfalls via pathways or hiking trails. If you are visiting the park in winter take a guided tour on a snow coach or snowmobile. Stop by one of the five visitor centers for information on ranger-led tours.
