Enjoy The Sights Of Canyonlands National Park
A member of Utah’s “The Mighty Five,” Canyonlands National Park stretches across more than 527 square miles of pinnacles, spires, canyons, cliffs, and mesas near Moab. Said to have been formed by the currents of the Colorado and Green Rivers, Canyonlands offers visitors a unique travel experience.
The Park is divided into four different areas: The Needles, the Island in the Sky, the Maze and the Colorado and Green Rivers. While some areas are more remote than others, you’ll still find something exciting to see, even in the farthest reaches of the Park.
Hikers have a wide range of options, particularly in the Needles where approximately 74 miles of trails await you. The Island in the Sky also has a variety of hiking trails, many that appeal to families. It also includes the often-photographed Mesa Arch.
You can test your mettle while whitewater rafting through the Class V rapids in Cataract Canyon or enjoy the flat-water sections. Drives along UT 313 and UT 211 reveal spectacular scenery, and there are also dirt roads for four-wheel-drive vehicles. Meanwhile, the White Rim Road in the Island in the Sky, which runs for approximately 100 miles, is a popular challenge for mountain bikers.
