Home to Over 50 Glaciers - Glacier Bay National Park

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska’s Interior Passage is a 3.3-million-acre park that is set along the Gulf of Alaska, offering gorgeous vistas of tidewater glaciers. West of Juneau this untouched marvel of nature is accessible from May to September by tour or charter boat or year-round by air.

Marine wildlife like whales, otters, and seals can be seen from its rugged shores. Inland, dense ancient forests abound with brown bears, blue bears- a derivative of the black bear, moose, and mountain goats. Hiking and kayaking are offered near its headquarters at Bartlett Cove. Home to over 50 glaciers, including the monstrous Grand Pacific Glacier, you can see how this park gets its name. Designated as a national monument by President Calvin Coolidge in 1925, Glacier Bay National Park is a must-see on everyone’s list. Glacial Bay was once said to have glaciers that stretched "as far as the eye could distinguish".
