Put your travel plans in motion and head for New Hampshire – you'll want to head for the town of Cornish, home to the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site.

You'll find the Saint-Gaudens NHS in central New Hampshire, northwest of Concord by less than 75 miles. Major highways like Interstate 89 and Interstate 91 yield the easiest access to Saint-Gaudens. You'll be able to fully explore the grounds at Saint-Gaudens NHS from Memorial Day through October 31.

Much of the park will be closed from November through Memorial day due to winter weather, though the Saint-Gaudens NHS Visitor Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. To enter the park, there will be a small fee for those 16 years and older.

Attractions & Activities

As you begin to explore the grounds, facilities, and attractions at Saint-Gaudens NHS, you'll find a wealth of excellent things to do. There are many ways to enjoy a visit to central New Hampshire – be sure to make it to Saint-Gaudens and explore one of the premier historic sites in the state.

Throughout the park, you'll find a selection of guided tours offered daily, taking you in and around the gardens where more than 100 sculptures are on display. With two departures each day, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Art Tour is an ideal way to explore Saint-Gaudens NHS – ranger led, this tour yields excellent insights into the life of Saint-Gaudens and his work. The Art Tour lasts around one hour.

The Saint-Gaudens Home Tour, also known as Aspet, is another terrific choice for your visit. Most days, there are six different tours you can enjoy, the first leaving at 10 a.m., and the last at 4 p.m. At 20 minutes in length, the Aspet Tour is a brief yet memorable experience.

Because more than 100 acres of the Saint-Gaudens NHS is forested, you'll find a wide range of well-groomed and ideal nature trails. There are few better ways to enjoy your time at Saint-Gaudens than with a hike or nature walk.

Enjoy the Ravine Trail, which starts at the Ravine Studio and ends at the Temple. It's just about a quarter mile long. The Blow-Me-Down Trail is roughly two miles in length, and takes you all the way to the Blow-Me-Down Mill. The Sycamore Trail is an off-shoot of the Blow-Me-Down Trail, and is also just a quarter mile.
