Inspiring Trails in New Hampshire
The varied terrain of the granite state is home to multiple scenic trails for hiking. Whether you’re looking to take a leisurely stroll through Fall foliage or challenge yourself on steep slopes through the Appalachian Mountains, everyone from families to outdoor enthusiasts can set their pace against awe-inspiring backdrops in New Hampshire.
In the Monadnock region, the Metacomb-Monadnock trail offers 18-miles of hiking through scenic gorges along Falls Brook. Ambitious hikers can continue into Massachusetts to complete the full length of the 114-mile trail. Also in Monadnock, the popular White Cross Trail is a four-hour round trip over moderate inclines and granite terrain.
In the northern part of the state, hikers test their stamina on the Baldface Loop in the Evans Notch region. Slippery ledges can be dangerous, but experienced hikers can reward themselves with fresh blueberries when they are in season.
One of the finest full day hikes in the White Mountains is Kearsarge North. It leads to the enclosed Fire-Tower where you can take in panoramic views of the mountain region of New England. Plowed in the winter, this path is accessible all year-round.
