Rev It Up in Southern Virginia 

Southern Virginia is one of the nation’s top spots for racing action – from big to small, the action here rocks! Virginia International Raceway is a 3.27-mile road course sprawled across 1,300 acres – it’s billed as a “motorsports resort.” NASCAR’s home is at Martinsville Speedway, a wild .5-mile track which hosts major sprint series races.

Locals love the South Boston Speedway, which is a short racetrack that hosts NASCAR events, including the Camping World East series and late-model races. Dominion Raceway in Woodford has an active calendar featuring oval track racing on a .4-mile ring and road events on the 2-mile road course.

North of Hampton Roads, Langley Speedway is a NASCAR-sanctioned track which hosts Whelen All-American series races and even go-karting. In North Dinwiddie, Virginia Motorsports Park is a popular drag strip which also plays host to motocross, mud bogging, and truck and tractor pulls.

Rolling Thunder Raceway

Located in Ararat, the Rolling Thunder Raceway is found in southwestern Virginia near Hillsville. Rolling Thunder Raceway plays host to events like car shows, kid’s bike nights, firework shows, and of course, car races – plus annual events like Halloween Havoc.

The Rolling Thunder Raceway racing season begins each March, and is held each Friday night from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Racers head for what is known as the Little Bull Ring – a 3/8-mile dirt oval track.

Virginia International Raceway

This 4.20 mile long racetrack has been consistently rated as America's "premiere motorsports resort" and it often hosts stock car, motorcycle, and battery car races.
