Thomas Edison National Historical Park
Thomas Edison National Historical Park is located at Llewellyn Park in West Orange. The Laboratory Complex features artifacts and exhibits based on the famous inventor’s contributions to science. Self-guided tours and audio tours of the Chemistry Lab and three-floor Main Laboratory Building help provide a better understanding of Edison’s work. Stop by the movie production studio, just off the courtyard, to view the Great Train Robbery, a silent film from 1903.
After your visit to the sprawling Lab Complex, head over to Glenmont Estate for a tour of the home Edison and his family occupied for 44 years. The 29-room, Queen Anne-style residence features authentic décor and furnishings. Tours of the estate are offered Friday-Sunday except during the winter.
