Capitol Hill

Visit Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.'s largest residential neighborhood. Measuring in at a shade under 2 square miles, Capitol Hill is split into the Southeast and Northeast regions – to the west, you'll find the National Mall, to the north is H Street, while south of Capitol Hill, you'll find the Washington Navy Yard and the Southeast/Southwest Freeway.

A popular destination for DC visitors, Capitol Hill has a rich, eclectic history dating back to 1799 – President Thomas Jefferson, in 1801, selected Capitol Hill as an area for Marine barracks. And in 1976, the Capitol Hill Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
