Northern Saskatchewan greets visitors with stunning boreal forests, unspoiled lakes and the northernmost sand dunes in the world. Northern Saskatchewan is also home to the oldest building in the province, the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in the mid-1800s. History buffs can set off on a self-guided "Heritage Walking Tour" through the Village of Waskesin, visit an authentic fur trading post in La Ronge or explore a replica of an early 1900s Northwest Mounted Police station. Prince Albert, which is shared by the Northern and Central regions, is the province's oldest city and is home to numerous museums.

The renown Ness Creek Music Festival welcomes fans to four days of music performed by local and international artists. When the colder winds blow, you know that the Prince Albert Winter Festival is not far away. This festival is known for showcasing everything from moose calls to wood chopping abilities and is considered a highlight of the season.
