Located in southern Ontario, Point Pelee National Park preserves 15 square kilometers of native marsh and woodlands on the end of a peninsula, jutting out into Lake Erie. It is known as an internationally protected wetland offers plenty of water related recreation activities, like paddling through the Point Pelee Marsh, boating in the lake, and much more.

A popular activity at Point Pelee National Park is canoeing and kayaking, as more than half of the park is comprised of freshwater marshes. Bring your own personal vessel, or head to the Marsh Boardwalk and rent one from the Friends of Point Pelee. Other interpreter-led activities include the Family Migration Hike, touring the 1.2-kilometre DeLaurier Homestead & Trail, Wildflower Walk, and the Life in the Lily Pads talk at the Marsh Boardwalk Tower.

Point Pelee is also known as the Warbler Capital of Canada, and is home to 390 species of birds. Designated an “Important Bird Area” and a UNESCO “Wetland of International Significance,” the park offers spectacular bird watching and nature photography – plus the annual Festival of Birds.

Other recreational activities at Point Pelee include the four-kilometre Centennial Bike & Hike Trail, and quick hikes along the 2.75-kilometre Woodland Nature Trail and the one-kilometre Marsh Boardwalk.
