Motorcycle Rides: Medicine Park Trail

A 70-Mile Ride in Southern Oklahoma

Here’s hoping you have your bike in Lawton for the Medicine Park Trail. This incredibly scenic loop trail leads motorcyclists through 70-miles of southern Oklahoma scenery – past stunning lakes, wildlife refuges, and wilderness area.

Start your trek in Medicine Park – a small town 14 miles northwest of Lawton, and just north of Fort Sill. From there, ride west on State Route 49 – an Oklahoma scenic byway passing through the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge – for 15 miles until you reach State Route 54. Hang a right and head north on OK-54 N until you pass Copperton. Just north of Copperton, make a right on State Route 19, followed by a right on State Route 115 about 10 miles later.

Head southeast on State Route 115 - another Oklahoma scenic byway – until you make a left on NW Meers Porter Hill Road. Continue on this road until you reach State Route 58, where you’ll make a right and encircle Lake Lawtonka. The OK-58 S will take riders back to Medicine Hat or Lawton.

Lunch spots abound on the Medicine Park Trail. Pull over for a picnic in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, or find a spot along the shores of Lake Lawtonka. Stop into Meers Store & Restaurant along your route for a famous Meers burger – dubbed the best burger in Oklahoma – or grab dessert at Ann's Diner.
