Music in Michigan

Music fans enjoy plenty of entertainment throughout the state at live venues, orchestra halls, and arenas. Built in 1919, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall is a Renaissance style concert hall and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This famous landmark is home to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and has hosted famed musicians like Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Billie Holiday and Duke Ellington. While traveling through Motown, enjoy a fun night out at one of the hall's many musical productions throughout the year.

Because of its deep-rooted music background, Michigan is full of fun music festivals to enjoy. Check out the Ferndale Blues & Music Festival, featuring about 60 concerts over nine days at over 20 venues throughout downtown Ferndale. Enjoy the Annual Motor City Blues Festival at the Fox Theatre in Detroit with top area jazz and blues musicians.
