Take a Trip on the Maritime Trail
Take a scenic drive up the New England coast to enjoy the beautiful beaches along the Atlantic, see seaside towns and villages, and explore historic sites. Acadia National Park is part of the Maritime Trail and is a prime destination to enjoy a leaf peeping tour. You can also head here for outdoor and recreational activities, including hiking, fishing, boating, and water activities. Pack a picnic and enjoy the breathtaking sites around this park at sunrise or sunset.
As you make your way along the trail, be sure to go on the cliff walk between Ogunquit and tiny Perkins Cove. You’ll also find some small shops and boutiques between these two areas along the trail so be prepped to pick up some souvenirs and trinkets. Outlet shopping opportunities in Freeport abound so be sure to make a pit stop at this town when hunting for bargains. You can also enjoy some cultural activities in route by stopping at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland.
