Chicago Area Agritourism
Though Chicago is the third largest city in the country, it doesn’t mean you can’t find some agricultural fun in the Windy City.
Check out the vegetable and flower garden at the Garfield Park Conservatory, or visit the many urban markets in town, including Green City Market and Southport Green Market. Chi Town also features the Streeterville Farmers On MCA Plaza at the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the student-run Farmstand at Chicago High School for Agricultural Science.
The Chicago metro area features plenty of U-pick farms, including Apples On Oak in Joliet, and Keller’s Farmstand in Naperville. And if you’re interested in what farm-life was like back then, visit the Durant House Museum in St. Charles, the Morton Grove Historical Museum in Morton Grove, and Schaumburg’s Volkening Heritage Farm At Spring Valley.
Several wineries are also located in Chicago, like the Wild Blossom Meadery & Winery, and Naperville spots like Lynfred Winery and Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant.
