Kobuk Valley National Park

One of Alaska’s largest national parks, Kobuk Valley National Park stretches across 1.7 million square acres. An extremely remote wilderness frontier, Kobuk Valley is in the high reaches of the Alaskan tundra, north of Fairbanks.

Wildlife viewing can deliver bear, moose, and caribou – plus birdwatching for eagles and other arctic birds. Established in 1980, Kobuk Valley is also notable for including the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes. Activities range from snowshoeing, hiking, and fishing to winter sports and stargazing.
