Washington knows wine. Home to 43,000 acres of vineyards, and more than 700 wineries, Washington comes in as the second-most wine producing state in the country.
Washington is known for famed wine regions – or American viticultural areas – like the Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley, and the Walla Walla region, the Evergreen State is a real treat for wine enthusiasts and vineyard hoppers.
Washington contains of more than 160 up-and-running microbreweries, including Yakima Brewing & Malting Co. – the first microbrewery in the country. Many of these Washington microbreweries are found in the Seattle metropolitan area, a real treat for any visitor to the Emerald City.
Many commercial and craft distilleries also add their products to the list of Washington spirits. Distilleries are found throughout the Evergreen State, including Spokane, the Cascades, and Seattle.
