Legendary Music Venues- Seattle and The Gorge
With artist Jimi Hendrix and the bands Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains being native to Seattle, the Emerald City and surrounding area has the most robust music scene in all of Washington. You may have heard of The Crocodile Café that helped launch local bands like Nirvana and Death Cab for Cutie. For turn of the century music and cabaret nostalgia, the Columbia City Theater has been open since 1917. It’s known for its superb sound quality and provides an elegant urban setting for small venues and local line-ups. Headlining shows meanwhile, can be found at mega-arenas like Safeco Field and Century Link Field in Seattle.
Head east to experience one of the most spectacular outdoor amphitheaters in North America. The Gorge Amphitheater in Grant County overlooks the Columbia River Gorge and provides seating for 20,000 fans. The Gorge draws in headlining bands like U2 and Cold Play in addition to hosting the annual Sasquatch! Music Festival. The Gorge has hosted nationally acclaimed music festivals like Lollapalooza and Vans Warped Tour.
White River Amphitheatre
Plan to check out the White River Amphitheatre on your next visit to the Seattle metro area. Opened in 2003, the White River Amphitheatre is just southeast of Auburn and is easily accessed from SR164. With Mount Rainier as a backdrop, the White River Amphitheatre seats 20,000 fans at a wide range of music performances.
Situated on the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation, the White River Amphitheatre has hosted top performers like Iron Maiden, Berlin, and Heart.
